Look at Another PCV's Work Here in Guyana!

Hey there,
Check out this video that another volunteer made about an organization trying to help clean up Guyana one city at a time (starting with Georgetown, because it needs it!). It’s a fun easy to watch movie that shares what it’s like in Guyana from an environmental perspective.

  1. Wow!
I am so impressed by all the children and volunteers and their passion for restoring Georgetown to "The Garden City."
Has "Guyana Shines" expanded to other places in Guyana? to your village?
David, do you remember assembling my tumbler composter? It is so much like the steel can composter demonstrated by one of the PC volunteers in the film. Can you build one for your host family or your clinic in your village?
The lessons at the end of the film, how long it takes for items to completely decompose, are appropriate for all of us. I feel I do a good job of recycling, but I can do more for reducing the amount of waste that goes into a landfill. And I will become even more committed to using reusable tote bags when I shop.
    Thank you for this video!
    Love,
    Mom
